Where did the summer go?

Wow it's the end of august already! I can't believe the year is already half over! I remember as a kid thinking summer would never end & now I can't believe fall is around the corner.
This summer was one of the busiest times I've had in a while! It stared off with the wonderful wedding of my now former roommate Heather to Stephen Brummer :) Because of the timing of her wedding & honeymoon I got the amazing opportunity to help head up the youth trip to Jesus Culture Dallas and it was life changing! We got to see some incredible breakthrough in several students that still to this day blows me away. Words can't describe how it felt to stand there watching one of the shyest girls I think I've ever seen stand on stage giving her life to Christ & instantly transforming into this smiling, bubbly, talkative girl! We also got the greatest complements from the staff at the hotel about how great the kids were! They actually said other hotel guests asked them who the group was because they'd never seen such a well behaved group of students. I was so proud that other people were seeing what fantastic students I get to work with :D

After Jesus Culture it was a crazy mix of work, babysitting & a 4th of July spent in Arkansas with my family!! It was so much fun being in the country setting off fireworks!  I wish I could see my family there more often.

Uncle Tom is firing a Roman Candle (did you know it says not to hold in your hand?!?) and Missy is complaining that it was a "better one" than her's/

The Grand Finale!

The rest of July was a blur of wedding shower,

L-R   Melody, Lauren, Kate (Bride, pre-white dress), Me
                                                  Mr & Mrs Marr

And to top off July we had a grand 60th birthday party for my dad!
So some how with all the Iphones & cameras in my family there are no pictures on facebook from my dads party!  But my oldest sister Kara & her daughter Chandler did surprise us & come to Austin for the party :D
That's right- we all know how to rock the hats ;)

I really wish NC was closer to Austin because we don't get to see Kara & her family nearly enough!!

All by myself...

All of my life I've lived with other people. I lived at home till I was 22, moved in with my cousin & then lived my friend Heather (till she decided to get married).... but on March 26th I found myself signing a lease for a one bedroom apartment. Boxes packed, utilities turned on, pizzas ordered, family & friends on their way ready or not all my stuff was going from building 3 to building 7!

Because of this big change I found myself wanting to start a blog. I was gonna detail the adventures of being on my own. I had my first blog all planned out- It was gonna be about all the things I did by myself including going to work out & being the only person who showed up for class. It was a little fitting that I was adjusting to being on my own & I was the only one who came to workout.  Anyway, the blog got put on hold because several other people started blogs during that time & I just put it off.
Now I've decided to take the time to write about whatever adventure or misadventure comes my way. So here goes nothing :D
